Katelyn's first bath

Katelyn finally got her first real bath today. Her umbilical cord has had problems falling off. There is still a tiny piece left but I was getting sick of giving sponge baths. She loved moving her legs around in the water. I don't know if you can tell in the picture below but her belly is huge! She wants to eat all the time and always thinks she is starving. So she has skinny legs and arms and a fat belly!

Here she is all clean and yummy! I love the smell of a clean baby! She is still a really good baby. She only wakes up twice a night to eat. We are so lucky! I've always heard that third baby's are good, but now I believe it!

One week old

Here are some random pictures of Katelyn's first week of life. She is such a good baby! She sleeps good and eats all the time. She had a little jaundice but it went away on it's own. It is crazy how alert and attentive she is so young. She can lift her head so much and she already smiles! (It's not gas I promise) We have enjoyed our new addition to our family!

Katelyn Georgia

Baby Katelyn was born yesterday at 4:48 pm. She is 8 lbs 2 oz. and 20 inches long. I was supposed to be induced the next day and she decided she was ready at 1:30 in the morning. We arrived at the hospital around 4 am and I got my epidural about an hour later. I was progressing pretty good but they kept raising the pitosin level. When it was at 20 and my contractions were about every 90 seconds the baby's heart rate kept dropping with every contraction. We were starting to get nervous and the doctor started talking about a C section. (which I really didn't want!) Shortly after that Chris decided to give me a blessing and went to find someone to do it with him. He ended up getting my doctor to come and stand in with him. During and blessing and after her heart rate never dropped again! My doctor was so awesome. He was so involved and really worked hard to get her out. I pushed for about half an hour but her head would not get past my pubic bone. So he said we should take a break and let the contractions push the baby, so I wouldn't run out of energy. When he came back her head had passed and was ready to come out. I pushed about 15 more minutes and she arrived! That is the shortest pushing time I've ever had. At first she was having a hard time breathing and her heart starting dropping again. So they gave her an IV and some oxygen and she was much better about an hour and half later. She is such a good baby so far. Very calm and happy! We are so happy for this new addition to our family. And very grateful that Heavenly Father helped us through this time in our lives!

Baby Shower

My cousin's Laurie and Lisa threw me a little baby shower at Cafe Rio. Mostly family came and a few friends. It was lots of fun and I got lots of cute pink things!!

My sister in laws came down from Rexburg. Nicole made this super cute blanket for Katelyn! As you can tell I forgot that someone was taking my pictures so I am not really looking in any of them. It was a fun day and I am grateful to everyone that made an effort to come and support me and my new baby girl!

February Fun

This is Hayley's valentine box. Recognize it from the top of Jayme's cupcake tower? She had lots of fun decorating it! She ended up winning the best box in the whole 3rd grade! She was very proud of herself and got lots of good prizes.

Her school also had a free family skate night. She had fun with her scooter and kept ditching her dad to go with her friends. Dylan was too little but they had a bouncy house so that kept him entertained. I just watched. Could you imagine a huge prego lady skating around?
