Camping In Ashton

This was our final camping trip before the snow comes. It was actually in the high 70's so pretty warm for the last days of September. By the time we took pictures it was our third day there. So we are kind of scary looking.

The leaves are starting to change color and even though I know this means winter is coming it is still really pretty. We took the scenic way home and went to lower Mesa Falls. You can't get as close as upper but it is free and it was Sunday.

This is Dylan just hanging out. He had kind of a rough trip. He is just very curious and has to get into everything. So all on the second day he fell off of the barstool at the table, got stung by a bee, and burned his finger on a lantern. (30 seconds after Chris warned him!) Poor Dylan maybe his next camping experience will be better.

Hayley's Room

It seems like a lot of you have been posting your cute girls rooms lately. So I had to join in. Here are the before and after of Hayley's room. She wanted pink for sure, so we just brightened it up a bit.

We are not totally finished with all the molding. I am definitley going to make a new lamp shade in case you were wondering. I made that when she was 3. We found her the desk below just last week at D.I. It was black and red so it took a lot of paint to get it white. I just can't decide what color to do the drawers? I have left over wall paint. So do you think green to match the dresser or pink to make it different?

More painting

Here is the before and after of the kitchen. I had a hard time with the wall color because the counter tops are a blue/grey color and I didn't want it to look red, white and blue. So we choose this burnt red color. It is called Bryce Canyon. These pictures are old but I am slowly accumulating some reddish orange items. I might still do some valances but I haven't decided yet. For now the color is growing on me. I wasn't so sure at first. I love all of the windows! I can finally use my plant stand again, even though I had to get all new plants because they died in the last place that only had 5 windows total. I also am proud of my cool wall clock that I found at a yard sale for only $3!

Bathroom Makeover

A few of you have been asking for some of our project pictures. So this is the before and after picture of our bathroom. We didn't do anything major. We just painted, added some new trim and bought a new mirror. The green turned out to be a little bit more limey than what the paint swatch said, but I really like it. It brightened it up a bit.
I can't decide what to do with the alcove. I think maybe put something brown in the glass jar? Or something totally different. Any suggestions?

Idaho Falls Zoo

Jenise and I took our kids to the Zoo a few weeks ago. Hayley didn't want to go so she stayed home with Chris. Below were the crazy monkeys. The white one was getting mad at the lady in the black and white striped shirt that you can see in the reflection. It kept on slamming into the glass to protect her male or something. It was pretty funny.

Dylan wouldn't brush the goats with Jordan and Cameron. They had fun making noises at all the animals. I'm sure the animals are used to that.

Disney Adventures

I am finally putting the rest of our trip to California on here. We got to go to Disneyland and California Adventures for two days without our children. It was fun but it made me miss them. We went to Disneyland for our honeymoon so it was fun to be there on our 9 year anniversary. They gave us Happy Anniversary buttons so wherever we went people would yell out "Congratulations" or "Happy Annivesary" it was funny. We really enjoyed California Adventure since it was our first time there. I would highly recommend Soarin over California, unless you are afraid of heights. We went on every ride except Nemo because the line is always too long, and some of the kid rides. It was nice to have a break from life and to have fun without children whinning.!

Chris almost got ran over by the huge rolling ball. Below is my cute orange bug. Too bad it didn't go very fast :(

Bike Adventures

So today for Labor Day we couldn't really go anywhere because girls have been moving in and out all day. So we decided to take advantage of the last day of the free stuff on our starving student card. I always thought it would be fun but Chris thought it was a waste of gas. So today in the 50 something degree weather we rode our bikes around town and got all the free stuff for our dinner. Some of the things we got were, a pretzel from Were Twisted, Lemonade from Frank's, a piece of chocolate from Florences, french fries and frozen custard from The Backyard, crazy bread from Little Caesars, cookie dough from Papa Murphy's, a lion house roll from Deseret book, chips and salsa from Bajio and chocolate mousse cake from Gandalfo's. Not much of this was healthy so we probably won't be doing this again anytime soon. It was just fun for the kids because they love going on bike rides, and we sure needed the exercise after all the junk food.
